A Motorcity Christmas with Starr and Levine
One Media are incredibly excited to announce the release of Angelo Starr’s Christmas soul single ‘Another Lonely Christmas (In the Motorcity)’, which comprises of two tracks: A-side ‘Another Lonely Christmas (In the Motorcity)’, and B-side ‘Back in the Middle of a Broken Heart’.
Angelo Starr, younger brother of the late legendary soul singer Edwin Starr, is a well-known singer in the Motown scene; he was a member of Edwin Starr’s touring band “The Team” for several years up until Edwin’s passing and, after a music hiatus, stepped in to front the band to keep Edwin’s legacy alive. Angelo has since released multiple singles and featured on a vast array of popular Northern Soul album compilations.
‘Another Lonely Christmas (In the Motorcity)’ is legendary Take That producer Ian Levine’s first ever Christmas record. In addition to producing Take That’s hits ‘A Million Love Songs’, ‘Could It Be Magic’ and ‘I Found Heaven’, Levine has produced and written an array of famous Hi-NRG tracks, most notably Evelyn Thomas’ 1984 charting dance hit ‘High Energy’ and Miquel Brown’s 1983 hit ‘So Many Men – So Little Time’.
‘Another Lonely Christmas (In the Motorcity)’ is an upbeat, funky, track which will get all listeners in the festive mood. Starr’s vocals are warm and powerful, which contributes to the tracks feel-good Christmas vibe along with the jingle bells and brass sound. Much like the singles’ A-side, the B-side ‘Back in the Middle of a Broken Heart’ has a positive, uplifting feel despite the poignant lyrical theme. Both tracks, despite their mellow themes, create a cheerful single which is perfect for all listeners alike during the Christmas period (whether in love, or out of love!).
The festive single is due out for release on FRIDAY 25TH NOVEMBER (pre-save it to your chosen music service here) and is accompanied by a music video (which you can watch here).
